take a moment in prayer,
see the tapestry there.
its colors, vibrant and free,
represent parts of you and me.
the threads intertwined,
like our journeys — yours and mine.
this tapestry of life we seek —
holistic yet unique.
let’s you
be you,
and me
be me.

Reflection
We live in a world obsessed with labels and sides.
I could tell you I’m a straight conservative artist — and for some, that would be all they’d need to know. Or I could say I’m a gay liberal parent, or a soul sleeping under a bridge.
Each label builds a wall — a quick way to sort and dismiss — yet none of these labels hold the truth of who we are.
They are garments the world gives us, and sometimes chains we learn to wear.
But beneath them, there is only one pulse — the same ache for love, the same hunger to belong, the same breath that whispers: I am more than what you call me.
I invite you to read the poem again.
