the heart
does not speak
in arguments.
it speaks
in silence.
in the room
where no one
asks your name.
in the story
you never tell
because there is
nowhere
for it to land.
it speaks
through a wound
that suddenly
needs tending,
the heart
asking
to be held.
it whispers,
stay.
do not leave
yourself
just because
someone else
cannot find you.
the heart
does not ask
to be admired.
it does not even ask
to be right.
it asks
for one face
to light up.
one voice
to say,
“i see you.”
when no voice comes,
the gap opens.
not as punishment,
but as invitation.
there,
i discover
i can become
the face
i have been
waiting for.
and quietly,
without applause,
my heart
comes home.
