Evermore : The Origin of Corvalya

Every name is born from a story.

Corvalya™ emerged from mine — a season of undoing that became the doorway to remembering.

There came a season when I died without dying — a quiet undoing that stripped away all illusion. In that silence, a raven appeared.

Not the raven of Poe’s “Nevermore”, but a sacred messenger — a watcher between worlds, carrying both shadow and light in its wings.

From that encounter was born Corvalya — a name that honors wholeness, tenderness, and the sacred art of renewal.

She moves between darkness and dawn, between silence and song.

Where the dragonfly meets the raven — in that still, mirrored space between light and shadow — there I remember who I am.

It is the meeting of flight and reflection, of fire and water, where love reveals its true essence: that nothing real can be lost, and no darkness can unmake the light we carry.

Corvalya is the grace that rests within shadow — the soft light that lingers on the wing of the dark bird.

She is not only the one who ascends, but the one who abides — the still point where descent and ascent become a single motion of the soul.

The raven reminds me that endings are becomings in disguise; the shadow is not the absence of light, but the place where light learns depth.

The dragonfly teaches me to rise from the depths renewed — to move with gentleness through change and let light reveal its many faces.

Together they show that creation is not about conquering darkness or clinging to light, but learning to see through both.

Under the name Corvalya, I write, paint, and pray for those who walk their own passage through shadow — those who feel the weight of the world yet still sense a flicker of flame within.

My work is not about escape; it is about presence — a conversation between silence and truth, between loss and becoming.

We are not merely artists; we are poets. We do not explain the world — we see it burning, and dare you to feel it.

Where Poe’s raven whispered “Nevermore”, mine speaks Evermore — a vow to carry light through every darkness and to honor the sacred work of remembering who we are.

Walk with me — where shadow softens, and light remembers its way home.

Acknowledgment

The symbols that accompany my journey — the raven, the dragonfly — arise from personal encounter and reflection. I hold deep respect for the many Indigenous, cultural, and spiritual traditions that honor these beings as sacred messengers.

My use of them is not to borrow their meanings, but to listen through them — as living teachers who speak to the soul beyond borders.
