Love and Light

i live in a world
where love seems weak,
and the darkness of hate
seems to peak.

for hate,
like a silent killer that spreads,
consumes our hearts
and leaves us in dread.

it feeds on itself,
a ravenous beast,
leaving behind a trail of sorrow
that never seems to cease.

one day, though,
through reflection,
it will turn —
and from the ashes,
a new light will burn.

yet, in the face of such hate,
we must stand tall,
embrace the light,
heed love’s gentle call.

united by that purpose,
pure and true —
choose to shine your light,
and lead others through.

the path may be dark,
the journey unclear,
but with unwavering faith,
we need not fear.

for in the depths of night,
a beacon shines,
illuminating the way —
a love divine.

let our voices rise,
a chorus of hope,
dispelling the shadows,
helping others cope.

for only through love
can we truly see
the beauty of what
we are all meant to be.

Reflection

This poem was born from seeing how quickly hate can normalize itself — how cruelty, repeated often enough, begins to sound ordinary.

Love and Light is not an escape from that reality; it is a decision to meet it differently.

Love steadies us when outrage burns us out. It reminds us that strength without compassion becomes its own form of blindness.

To choose love is to stay awake — fully, fiercely human.

I invite you to read the poem again.
