to quiet the storms
that cloud your mind,
and let the light of love
unwind.
it aches to see you
bound by wrath,
lost within the shadows
on your path.
i cannot lift
the weight you hold,
nor break the chains
of grief untold.
i am here, though,
in plain sight,
surrounding you
in love and light.
holding that
steadfast flame,
to cradle your sorrow
and speak your name.
my prayer is whispered
through each day —
that the light of love
will find its tender way.
so, dear one,
from your weary soul,
let the rivers of sorrow flow —
and leave you free,
unbroken,
and whole.
