When I go out into the night air
and look up at the moon —
I see a loving mom,
wrapping her arms around me,
comforting me
and shining a light on my path.
Even when I don’t see her,
I know she is there.
We are all children of a loving parent.
And this is a poem from a mother’s heart —
for only a mother knows
the journey to the soul,
and a journey
she cannot partake.
Her children have to walk
through their own deserts alone.
All a mother has
is her unconditional love
and everlasting light
to shine on their path —
and one day,
they will see the divine within,
the source of their strength,
welcoming them home.
