if i had one wish,
it would be —
to heal your heart
and set you free.
to quiet the storms
that cloud your mind,
and let the light of love
unwind.
it aches to see you
bound by wrath,
lost within the shadows
on your path.
i cannot lift
the weight you hold,
nor break the chains
of grief untold.
i am here, though,
in plain sight,
surrounding you
in love and light.
holding that
steadfast flame,
to cradle your sorrow
and speak your name.
my prayer is whispered
through each day —
that the light of love
will find its tender way.
so, dear one,
from your weary soul,
let the rivers of sorrow flow —
and leave you free,
unbroken,
and whole.
and when dawn breaks,
your heart will see
the boundless light
of your destiny.

Reflection
This is my wish for all who feel bound by storms they cannot control.
We cannot carry another’s chains or force their freedom — but we can hold light beside them. Sometimes love is simply the quiet presence that refuses to look away.
My prayer is that, in that steadfast glow, each soul remembers its own light and finds the courage to walk toward it again.
I invite you to read the poem again.
