Release

Let us begin
by centering ourselves.

Listen to your heart.
As you do,
take a deep breath in…
and let it out.

Feel the vibration
of the Divine,
of the collective,
affirming our truth —
your truth.

Release.
A powerful word.

There was a time
I stood before a door,
lost and searching.

On that door
was a prayer:

Dear Universe,
I release freely
what no longer
serves me…

Those words struck me.
I didn’t yet know
what I was releasing —
only that I could
no longer carry it.

And then came
a deeper prayer —
the kind that cracks open
the heavens:

I believe.
Help my unbelief.

Like Jacob,
I wrestled.
Not with God’s punishment,
but with God’s presence.

I will not let You go
unless You bless me.

— Genesis 32:26

I understand that now.

That kind of refusal
is holy.

It is not resistance —
it is reverence.

It is saying:

I will stand,
not in spite of the struggle,
but because of it.

Because in the very act
of wrestling,
we are already
practicing heaven.

So in closing,
I offer this affirmation:

I bless the struggle
and carry its wisdom.

I release,
I rise,
and I return —
again and again —
to the presence of heaven within
me.

And so it is.
